Andrew Conway is a professional freelance photographer based in London and the South East of England
I am based in North East London and love nothing better than to walk, either along the Thames, recreational paths in the South East or National Trails across the country - my only companions, a camera and a hip-flask containing a fine single malt (my other great love!)
It was the gift of a Kodak instamatic from Mum and Dad for my 10th birthday (remember those chunky plastic film cartridges that slotted in the back?) that got me started, and it was when I graduated to a solid Prakitica SLR for my 18th that the photography spark really ignited. This was a camera built like a tank and with a heavy shutter action that kicked like a mule, almost knocking this bespectacled youth clean off his feet. Regardless, this camera taught me the basic principles of photography and I loved it so much I still own it today.
At this tender and impressionable age I nipped off to drama school, discovered I couldn't act and dropped out. A stint at college to study media led me once again to the other side of the camera, but this time film and video which instantly became a passion - writing, directing and dreaming of becoming the next David Lean were the order of the day.
These days the fascination is back with the still image. The thrill of anticipating and capturing the exact moment where light, subject and composition all collide in a perfect fusion is a feeling that keeps me buzzing for days!

I must confess that I'm a bit of an old romantic when it comes to the art of photography. Not for me showy technique or flashy photoshop shenanigans - I much prefer the delicate lyricism of Henri Cartier-Bresson or the unashamed romance of Doisneau. Truth and beauty is in the 'moment' itself and no amount of post production trickery can fake that.
My style is essentially photojournalistic, or what is commonly known as reportage. Whether photographing a wedding, or on a portrait shoot, my goal is a simple one - to selfishly yet unobtrusively hunt down those elusive and magical moments that make our lives so special; the fleeting smile, the stolen glance, the loving embrace, people getting on with their lives, doing their thing - loving, laughing, crying, being human.
Do I do posed shots and group shots? Yes of course I do! There's no reason why these can't be just as fresh and fun and lively and unique as any other photograph and I guarantee that while I'm taking them you'll have an absolute ball!
Life sometimes seems to dash along at the speed of an express train and all those wonderful moments and memories are in constant danger of dissolving into a distant, fragile haze. But don't worry, I'll preserve them for you - and not just for your lifetime, but all of our lifetimes and beyond....

Weddings & Civil Partnerships Rather than confuse you with a vast array of complex packages, I like to keep things simple and so here's what I have to offer:
Package 1 (£1,150.00) 1. A personal wedding consultation 2. *A pre-wedding portrait shoot. 3. Unlimited coverage of your wedding day, from the Bride's preparations through to the first dance. 4. A complete set of your wedding photos on disc, all high resolution files, resized and edited for optimum print quality and all licenced by me for you to print at your leisure. 5. A password protected online gallery with all your wedding photos for all your family and friends to view and purchase from the comfort of their own home.
Package 2 (£1,550.00)
All of the items contained in Package 1 but in addition a beautifully presented bespoke Coffee Table album, personally designed by me and containing up to 120 of your favourite wedding photos.
Package 3 (Starting at £1,950.00) This again contains all the items in Package 1 but also includes a luxury bespoke, hand-stitched album that will take your breath away! They come in a variety of sizes and materials, are stunningly presented and will be a lasting and handsome reminder of your wonderful day for many years to come. Prices start at £1,950.00 but can grow depending on your final choice of album - and believe me, it's worth it!

In addition I can offer you a wide range of products, from Parents' Wedding Albums to stunning canvas wraps and beautiful acrylics. I can also offer as an extra a complete set of wedding pictures on disc, all high resolution files, resized and edited for optimum print quality and all licenced by me for you to print at your leisure for £150.00. *A pre-wedding shoot is a relaxed and informal portrait session with the two of you, which takes place at a location of your choice a few weeks before your wedding day. It's a great way for us to get to know each other and for you to witness my style firsthand, as well as an excellent opportunity to have some lovely portraits of your selves to display in your home and share with your loved ones. Couples often select a favourite picture and have it mounted and displayed at their wedding reception for all their guests to sign and leave personal messages on - it's a wonderful reminder of the day.
Throughout the big day itself I remain as unobtrusive and discreet as possible, capturing the natural narrative of the day in all of its detail, romance, beauty and emotion. Of course I'll do those group shots too, but far from being stuffy and conventional, they'll be fun and entertaining and memorable. I would also like the indulgence of stealing the Bride and Groom for about 20 minutes or so for those all important couple shots!
Portrait Sessions (£225.00) A lifestyle shoot shouldn't just be about having your picture taken - it should be about a sense of occasion, a memorable day out, an event that you'll never forget. Whether it's the entire family, just the children or a couple, we'll go somewhere that's special to you - a park, a place by the sea, a city or a beautiful rural idyll - we'll spend up to 4 hours relaxing, laughing and getting wonderful, fresh, inventive portraits of Mum, Dad, the children, the boyfriend, the girlfriend, lasting images that you'll treasure forever.
Two weeks after the shoot I'll come to you and present a slideshow of your wonderful day and give you a disc with your images, all high resolution files, resized and edited for optimum print quality and all licenced by me for you to print at your leisure. In addition I'll show you a selection of excellent ways you can display your pictures, from stunning canvas wraps and acrylics (starting at £125.00) to beautiful bespoke albums (starting at £150.00). I guarantee that once you see the possibilities, you won't be able to resist.
Portfolios Need a selection of portraits for your portfolio? Not only will I spend up to 3 hours with you at a location of your choice getting just the shots you require, I'll also retouch 5 selected images from your shoot and provide you with a disc of high resolution files. A portrait session will cost £165.00 and any additional retouching will cost £30.00 per image.
Commercial and Events I am always available for commercial, corporate and event photography. My fees are £300.00 + expenses for a half day (up to 4 hours) and £550.00 + expenses for a full day (up to 8 hours). Each additional hour is charged at £45.00.
